This third edition has presented scientific and technological discoveries aimed at improving people's lives, focusing on 4 main areas: Energy and Sustainability, Mobility and Industry 4.0, New Space and Digital Health.  

This year, as a new initiative, it was held within the framework of the Smart City Expo World Congress at the Gran Via Venue of Fira de Barcelona. 

Under the heading, “Deep Tech for a Better Future”, the BDTS aimed to create, connect, showcase and inspire the latest Deep Tech trends and explore how this industry will transform science, business and technology to create the innovations that will shape the future. 

With more than 70 speakers and the presence of 47 start-ups, the Barcelona Deep Tech Summit has been an opportunity to present innovative business projects to address the global challenges of the future.  

The event included the collaboration of the five leading universities in research: UB, UAB, UPC, UPF and UOC and the support of five strategic partners: Aldea Ventures, Barcelona Supercomputing Center, IESE, Mobile World Capital and Tech Barcelona. 

A total of three days of talks, forums, debate spaces and networking dynamics focused on the ethical perspective of artificial intelligence; investment in Deep Tech; and technologies applied to smart cities.
