Barcelona Activa encourages young people from educational centres to find vocations with an inspiring session by Òscar Camps
Barcelona, 06 May 2024
The programme Working with values closed a new edition with the celebration of the final gala. The initiative, which is part of the Professional Life Project, promotes the values of work and the entrepreneurial spirit in educational centres. More than 13,700 students from 186 educational centres have already enjoyed the service, which aims to guide the young people of Barcelona and the metropolitan area in their professional future.
The event included an inspiring talk given by by Óscar Camps, founder and director of the NGO Proactiva Open Arms, known for rescuing people in the Mediterranean. The conference also included a live performance by the influencer and singer Julen. Both encouraged the attending students to find vocations and passions through experiences that can accompany them throughout their lives.
At the conference, the finalist projects from among the proposals presented by the students on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) were presented. The jury awarded the project Habitatge Juvenil (Youth Housing project), created by students of the Montserrat Miró i Vilà Institute. The group received as a prize different tickets for the Cruïlla Festival and for the America's Cup Experience.
The Professional Life Project is promoted by Barcelona Activa and the Barcelona Education Consortium, with the collaboration of the BCN Vocational Training Foundation and FemCAT. For 20 years, the ProVP has sought to accompany students in making decisions about their professional future and serve as a bridge between the world of education and work.
