Barcelona Activa awards the innovative projects from the Social Entrepreneurship programme
The Bleta initiative, a tablet for the elderly, has become the winning start-up of the sixth edition of the awards.
Barcelona, 29 Sep 2021
Barcelona Activa has presented the awards to three of the emerging companies that have participated in the sixth edition of the Social Entrepreneurship programme. This initiative accompanies the implementation and development of projects with transformative capacity, socially responsible and economically viable.
The programme aims to turn Barcelona into a benchmark city in a model of entrepreneurship with a positive social impact for the planet. In this edition, more than 100 projects have worked on their business idea through synergies with other entrepreneurs. The call has also counted on the collaboration of EADA, the Sala Beckett and Tándem Social.
The winning company was Bleta, awarded with a contribution of 12,000 Euros and access to an incubator of Barcelona Activa. This start-up has designed a tablet adapted for the elderly with the aim of bringing new technologies to this sector of the population and tackling the digital divide.
Two more start-ups have received recognition as finalists for the awards. The first one awarded was Baiau, which promoted the creation of a workshop for bakery products. The initiative aims to achieve labour insertion for homeless people and has received an award of 6,000 Euros. The other distinction has been received by the project Gira Por Las Casas (Touring the homes), a web platform that allows you to organise cultural shows in private homes and spaces, which has received an endowment of 3,000 Euros.
